Radiation Therapy

As part of MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, the MUSC Health Radiation Medicine team is committed to providing the best evidence-based care.

Patients are often faced with a difficult decision regarding cancer treatment using surgery, chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Using our multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, we will work to determine the best treatment recommendations and deliver the highest quality care. Our staff of board-certified radiation oncologists, nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists and clinical support staff are ready to answer any questions you have.

Radiation Therapy Treatment Options

Over the course of your treatment, the cancer cells will die or slow their growth and other symptoms caused by the tumor will lessen. We have a wide variety of modern technology enabling us to treat our patients with cutting-edge techniques and advanced clinical protocols and we are guided by the latest innovative research and clinical trials. Our treatment options include:

Our survivorship clinic includes patients with many different cancers including prostate, breast, lung and gastrointestinal. Our goals are to manage both immediate and long-term side effects from radiation treatment, help you to be sure you're up-to-date on screenings and care for other health conditions, and conduct any recommended exams for signs of a potential cancer recurrence.
