Drivers for a Cure License Plate

drivers for a cure south carolina license plate

You can now proudly display your support for MUSC Hollings Cancer Center on your vehicle. Proceeds from the new “Drivers For A Cure” special license plate will benefit lifesaving cancer research at Hollings, the state’s only NCI-designated cancer center.

In March 2021, both the South Carolina House and Senate approved a bill that would allow the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue the special license plates. The biennial fee for the special license plate is $30, plus the regular motor vehicle license fee. Proceeds from the fee will be distributed evenly between Hollings and the Duke Cancer Institute to further cancer research.

Your investment in a "Drivers For A Cure" license plate will help Hollings expand lifesaving preventative cancer screenings to underserved communities, find more effective treatments for cancer, and improve cancer outcomes for patients across South Carolina.

“The new special license plate gives MUSC Hollings Cancer Center another avenue to raise awareness about cancer and stress the importance of cancer prevention and screenings,” said Hollings director Raymond N. DuBois, M.D., Ph.D. “Funds raised by these license plates will benefit cancer research at Hollings, which in turn will help to save more lives in South Carolina.”

The plate is available for purchase on the SCDMV website. Where it says Plate Gallery in the left hand column, enter Driver's for a Cure in the search box.
