American Cancer Society

MUSC Hollings Cancer Center has a long-standing relationship with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the ACS Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) that spans research, event sponsorship and support, patient support, and advocacy efforts at the state and national level. More than 50 Hollings scientists have received funding through the ACS, enabling significant breakthroughs in the development of new diagnostic, therapeutic, and survivorship approaches to cancer.

Hollings patients have greatly benefited from the hospitality at the ACS Charleston Hope Lodge, the first hospitality house of its kind in the country, located across the street from our campus. Since Hollings cancer patients travel from all areas of the state, the lodge meets a critical need for patients and their families while receiving daily cancer treatments.

Clemson University

Hollings Cancer Center and the Sullivan Center at Clemson University collaborate on mobile clinic interventions to advance access to health education and screening tests for rural and urban communities that face distinct challenges accessing quality health care.

South Carolina Cancer Alliance

The South Carolina Cancer Alliance (SCCA) is a collaborative comprised of more than 75 organizations dedicated to decreasing the burden of cancer on South Carolinians and eliminating cancer disparities. The SCCA leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of South Carolina’s State Cancer Plan, which provides the road map for identifying gaps, goals, and priorities. Hollings is a primary sponsor and member of the SCCA, and a number of Hollings faculty and staff hold leadership positions in the organization.
