February 28, 2025 — Cancer Survivorship at the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center: Then. Now. Next. (MUSC Alumni Weekend Symposium Opening Session)
Evan Graboyes, M.D., MPH, introduced the Survivorship and Cancer Outcomes Research (SCOR) Initiative at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, where the focus is on ensuring that survivors are not just surviving, but thriving. This collaborative session laid the foundation for the session’s exploration of cutting-edge clinical care, novel research advances and the ongoing clinical trials helping survivors live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
The session also featured insights into the transdisciplinary approach that brings together experts from across MUSC to address the complex needs of cancer survivors – from physical therapy and mental health support to caregiver resources and smoking cessation. Dr. Graboyes was joined by SCOR members Jennifer Dahne, Ph.D., Alana Rojewski, Ph.D., and Katharine Schmitt, PT, DPT, CLT, as well as Amanda Kastrinos, Ph.D., a research scholar in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
