Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program Region 1-South

The Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities (GMaP) is a national program designed to facilitate collaboration, resource sharing, and capacity building among cancer health equity researchers, trainees, outreach workers, and organizations. The key goal of GMaP is to advance cancer health equity research and training.

GMaP Objectives

  • Advance the science of cancer health equity research.
  • Promote the development of the next generation of cancer health equity researchers.
  • Contribute to measurable reductions in cancer health equity in GMaP regions.

Region 1-South

Region 1-South is comprised of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The mission of Region 1-South is to enhance the research and professional development, community engagement, mentorship, and education of cancer health equity researchers. Hollings Cancer Center, along with UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, coordinates these efforts in Region 1-South.
